NAESM
was created with a primary effort of educating communities of color
through educational and prevention materials. In 1990, there
was a severe need for HIV awareness and risk reduction information
for the minority community--especially African American men who have
sex with men (MSM), which continues to be one of the most infected
and affected populations today.
Over the years,
NAESM's Department of Health Education & Promotions has developed
into a much larger and more demanding branch of NAESM. Because
of the growing needs and demands for HIV awareness and risk reduction
information, NAESM has created and established various avenues to
allow easier access to AIDS education and prevention. Such
avenues include:*
On the D. L.(Down Low) Risk Reduction Workshops
- Street/Community
Level Outreach
- Preventive
Case Management Program
- Group Level
Intervention
- Safer Sex

- WRFG 89.3

Many
Men, Many Voices
There are six-week sessions of open and honest dialogue with trained/certified
health educators and preventive case managers. Sessions are facilitated
at NAESM office or comfortable environment, to encourage serious
discussion with and about African American men who have sex with
men.
Does this
sound familiar? If so, come to a safe environment to attend
a six session workshop to help learn how to build skills around
practicing safer sex and healthy living through behavioral change.
